We joined the project at stage 3, after it had been worked on by another Architect. Taking over a project is always laden with unknown variables and complications.
Our team delved straight into the challenge as we conducted due diligence and project appraisals before we started to propose any changes. All changes were made to bring the designs within the constraints of legislations and regulations. We found neat opportunities to create recessed ducts to house geysers, fire fighting equipment and piping. We were given a great opportunity to investigate new materials which would benefit the client by being more cost efficient and would require less maintenance. We embraced the challenges and pushed the boundaries to ensure that these buildings would not only be functional, but also beautiful. In a high density housing development, we created variation with the colours and materials chosen.
We also used the opportunity to provide additional information to the client about universal access and compiled a full report on the proper implementation of universal access.
